This is a non-profit social entrepreneurial initiative hosted by the University of Sydney China Development Society – resembling the Whampoa Military Academy program for international students in Sydney. This program aims to provide participants with the opportunity to put their theory into practice, and promote the economic, social and cultural development of target areas through meaningful practical actions. These events will be held during holidays, lasting for twenty to forty days. They allow both Chinese international students and local Australians to serve and learn about the Chinese society through education outreach, community governance and social entrepreneurship. These social initiatives will be held in various locations in China, such as primary schools in rural parts of Gansu, Yunnan and Guangdong province, and will encompass more regions in the future. Participants will accomplish innovative and meaningful missions in the format of small groups, and CDS will assist them with the implementation of action plans and the feedback process of local community.
